Year 4 home learning

In the event of school being closed, or if your child has to self-isolate due to Covid-19, Year 4 have put together a number of links to websites/resources.

Reading

Please encourage your child to read everyday and continue to record this in their reading diary. They can read a range of texts and other materials.

Literacy

The following link provides resources encouraging children to be creative in story writing, with picture prompts to help with ideas.

Maths

Please encourage your child to work on their Times Tables Rockstars, which they all have usernames and passwords for.

Please also use the Activelearn online platform, where games and activities will be set for children to complete. Year 4 children have been given their own usernames, passwords and the school code.

The following website provides a number of maths games and activities for the children to access:

    1. Hi, her username should be the first 4 letters of her name followed by the first 4 letters of her surname. The password is ‘Class10’ (must have a capital C). I hope this helps.

  1. Hi, I was just wondering if there is any history & geography work Chloe could do at home please? She said they’ve been doing Monarchs in history but we didn’t know if they’d finished that. Thank you

    1. Hi,

The only thing we had left to do in History was a final comparison between the two monarchs (King John and Queen Victoria), and for children to decide who they thought was the most successful monarch. You could always choose two more monarchs to compare, e.g. Queen Elizabeth I and Queen Elizabeth II.

In Geography, we were going to be moving onto Atlas and Globe work, so you could always choose a country at random in the atlas and complete a factfile about it!

      Hope that helps,

    1. Hi Chloe,

Just keeping practising your times tables on TTRS and using any of the Topmarks games, practice any written methods for maths for the four operations. Read as much as you can, I look forward to hearing how many books you’ve managed to read! You could always have a go at writing your own story, using your favourite book as inspiration 🙂
